Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions

LUMBER: The market took a small break of sorts with only studs and 2x10's printing up slightly. Demand is strong and the market is firm for sure. Hopefully we have seen price appreciation slow down a bit but I'm thinking it won't peel off for a while. PANEL: Panel market is still very firm and OSB is the hot commodity of the week again. On another note, the treat market is active as well. Heavy rains and flooding has made it difficult for sourcing logs. I see this tailing off however as dryer weather approaches. Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions

LUMBER: We head into the last week of February with mild weather predicted for the most part and a lumber market that just won't let up. Numbers pushed higher this week pretty much across the board with not much end in sight. Current demand and expected demand for the spring buyers continuing to build inventory is the big driver. PANEL: The OSB and fir panel market is now as hot as dimension as prices print up on all across the board. Again buyers are grabbing material in anticipation of spring and to fill current demand. Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions

LUMBER: A bit ore fuel added to fire this week as prices printed up across the board in a big way for February. Fueled by demand, somewhat milder winter weather and buyers anticipating needs for spring added to the frenzy. And if you think this market was hot, read the notes below, panel is scorching HOT. PANEL: So call this market catch up to dimension or demand stripping supply but panel mills have an order file out to the end of March! As of 4 PM on Friday most mills were off the market with nothing left to sell. If you were sleeping on this one and you want fir plywood especially, you're probably scrambling. Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions

LUMBER: Well we are into February and we saw another significant bump up in the market this week pretty much across the board. Buyers jumped in last week to get covered for the month and early spring and added some fuel to an already firm and active market. So now the question is will the weather stay on our side and demand stay decent. PANEL: Last week I mentioned that the panel market may start following dimension it did this week. Led by OSB and Huber products we saw significant increases across both Fir and OSB markets. Paul Tarca Head of Purchasing Concord Lumber Corporation ptarca@concordlumbercorp.com

Industry Forecast - Lumber Pricing & Market Predictions

LUMBER: We turn the page today into February and with enough demand and mild January weather we saw prices print up across the board. Studs started this run a few weeks back and everything else just seemed to catch from there. If the weather continues to be on our side these prices will stick for a bit. PANEL: As mentioned last week, panel prices finally bumped up to capture some of this demand. OSB led the way and fir panels followed suit. Look for Huber products to increase as well in the coming weeks. Paul Tarca Head of Purchasing Concord Lumber Corporation ptarca@concordlumbercorp.com
